We Who Smile is a creative working group that organizes and runs expressive arts workshops for immigrant and refugee children in Finland. Founded in 2012, the group has in recent years focused on working with refugee children and youth in reception centres around the country, engaging with them in the creation of  story books, animations and art exhibitions. We Who Smile's primary goal has been to provide these young people, recently arrived in Finland after long and difficult journeys, the opportunity to tell, in their own words and pictures, about their experiences, their homeland and their hopes for the future. The group has also developed workshops aimed at strengthening refugee children's and youth's relationships with Finnish nature.
